To promote: respect for life, liberty, and property; strong traditional families; patriotism; individual, state, national sovereignty - with a strong reliance on the Declaration and allegiance to the Constitution for the United States of America - by petition to God, by political and educational means.
(For information on the outreach to North, Central, South Americas, and the Caribbean refer to the History Page, elsewhere in this website ... after the American Political Prophecy into, memorium.)
WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR NAME ?
While we can quickly say:
"We were given our name in the 19th Century (1844), organized in the 20th Century, and the 21st Century is our time to fulfill our mission;"
There is more to it. We also realize it will take significant work to "fulfil our mission." We are more than willing and ready as well as currently, actively working toward that lofty and worthy goal by "political and educational means."
Actually, more background about the name of the party comes from the fact that an 1844 Presidential Candidate who ran, not as a Whig (it wouldn't become the Republican party for another ten years - 1854) or as a Democrat, but as an Independent American for the highest office in the land. He was also a religious leader who looked into the future and said:
"There will come a time when there will be two great political parties. One will be called the Republican, and the other Democrat. These two parties will go to war with each other and out of these two parties will spring another party, which will be the Independent American Party. ..."
(Mosiah Lyman Hancock's Journal)*
[Historic Note: In 1844 the 'Republican Party' did not exist! That year there were Whigs and Democrats. It wasn't until 1854 - ten years in the future - when the Republican Party formed with Abraham Lincoln as the party's first Presidential Candidate. a few years later the RNC was formed and it became the Grand Old Party (G.O.P. in 1858). There were Republicans before, but they were the Democrat-Republican Party which were also called the Anti-Federalists ... back in 1792.]
That man was Joseph Smith, Jr., an American Prophet. On June 19,1844, when he was running for the Presidency of the United States, he made the above statement as part of his 'American Political Prophecy' which was recorded in the journal of Mosiah Lyman Hancock, passed down to us and documented for us today.
On another topic and reason to be involved in a 'third party' like the IAP :
John Adams stated:
“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”
Additionally, Ezra Taft Benson is quoted as saying:
“... if you vote for the lesser of two evils, you are still voting for evil… Always vote for the best possible candidate, whether they have a chance of winning or not. Then, even if the worst possible candidate wins, the Lord will bless our nation more because more people were willing to stand up for what is right.” (emphasis added)
Benson states that voting 'for the lesser of two evils ... (is) still voting for evil ..." We also go on to interpret that to mean the leadership of both of the two major parties (Dem & Rep/GOP; DNC & RNC) are corrupt and 'evil' and form a duopoly.
So, why are voters still voting for the 'lesser of two evils' and are surprised when they are still getting the same old 'evil ' result?? Didn't Albert Einstein call the concept of 'wanting something different while doing the exact same thing ... INSANITY'? Something to seriously consider!!
OUR SOLUTION: Look to the best and viable THIRD Option ...
THE INDEPENDENT AMERICAN Party. The Constitution SOLUTION Party ... THE best and only consrvative option for Utahns !!!!
As Samuel Adams clearly stated, back in 1774:
"(THIS) COUNTRY SHALL BE INDEPENDENT,
AND WE WILL BE SATISFIED WITH NOTHING SHORT OF IT."
Or John Adams, who also said (in:1776)
"INDEPENDENCE now ...and INDEPENDENCE forever.!!"
Gotta love those Adams boys !!
